Support For Your Parents. Peace Of Mind For You
Think Of Me As The Family PA. I'm First Class, Carer, Life Admin Extraordinaire All Mixed Into One.
I'm Jane. A small town New Zealand girl who made Sydney home. I work with aging parents in Sydney whose adult kids are interstate, overseas or local but "sandwich generation" stretched. I'm not a carer (although I have worked in that space). I'm more like the friend who lives nearby and can handle things when you can't be there. Someone they can count on. Someone you can count on. How this started: I was a Qantas First Class Flight Attendant for over 10 years. Long haul. International. I loved it. I had a few roles after leaving Qantas (we all remember the time the world turned upside down). The work I did ticked the bills over, but I kept getting the nudge as I came across the 80+ independent living crowd. What happens when parents get older and their kids are scattered - London, Melbourne, Singapore, wherever life takes people. Who helps unpack the groceries? Who goes to the specialist appointment with Dad and actually listens? Who's there when something feels off but it's not urgent enough to fly home for? ...who drives when Mum starts to kissy kiss carpark bollards. So I started doing this. One client. Then another. Now I work with a handful of families whose parents need someone local they can count on. My first client says she's my "Aussie mum." We have breakfast at the Sailing Club, sort her errands, talk for hours. After some intense post hospital overnights another said, "I was sent an angel." We bonded quickly. What you should know about me: I only take a few clients at a time. Because I actually want to know your parent. Their routines. Their stories. What makes them laugh. The things they'd hate if handled clumsily. When I visit, I don't show up in scrubs with a clipboard. I show up like a loving friend would if she lived nearby. Sometimes that's breakfast out. Sometimes it's GP appointments. Sometimes it's just being there so your parent isn't alone with something hard. I adjust to what's needed that week. I work with a Registered Nurse when needed (who happens to be) my Aunty Miranda. If your parent needs clinical support, wound care, medications, post-surgery monitoring - she steps in. But most of my families don't need that. They just need someone capable who notices things. Who handles stuff before it becomes a crisis. What I bring: 10+ years Qantas First Class cabin crew Senior First Aid + CPR certified Police check | Working with Children Check Passenger Transport Licence Fully insured Based in Randwick (I cover Eastern Suburbs & North Shore) If your parent is still sharp and independent but needs someone reliable nearby, let's talk.
