Frequently Asked Questions
It's aged care, but not as you know it.
Support for your parents. Peace of mind for you.
What kind of help do you provide?
I offer premium, private assistance with: • Transport to appointments - including taking notes on request • Light errands and groceries • Household admin or tech help • Companionship and outings • Liaising with local providers or healthcare contacts • Clear communication with families The Gentle PA is not part of a government-funded system, although I can work alongside those services if needed. My strength is in intuitive, empathetic, consistent and capable presence.
Who is The Gentle PA for?
Support for independent older adults who are still cognitively strong, but would benefit from capable, kind support. Whether it’s regular help or just an extra pair of hands after a fall or hospital visit, I'm here. My clients are supported by adult children with busy lives locally, or managing things from interstate/overseas. I act as the eyes on the ground.
How can I schedule a consultation with The Gentle PA?
To schedule a consultation, simply call Jane on M: 0416 563 428 or email [email protected].
Can I book one-off help?
Yes. The Urgent Help, Hospital to Home and 6 Hour GPA services are ideal for fast action or flexible short-term support. These can be booked for hospital discharges, family travel gaps, or when you need help but don’t want an agency or government involvement.
Can you accompany someone to appointments?
Yes. Whether it’s medical, dental, hair, or a social outing, I can accompany and assist as needed, while keeping the experience relaxed and supportive.
Can I claim this as a business or family trust expense?
Some families may choose to explore how my services fit as an operating expense within their household or family office structure. In some cases, this may include engaging me as a contracted service or placing me on the payroll in a dedicated support role, similar to how you might engage a private assistant, travel concierge or wellness provider.
If you’re managing care across generations, locations or time zones, this kind of arrangement can offer clarity and consistency.
I recommend speaking with your accountant or adviser to explore what makes sense for your setup. While I don’t provide financial advice, I’m happy to issue invoices or provide documentation to support a structured approach.
Do you charge extra for transport?
Transport fees can be discussed in advance and will be nominal to cover fuel and vehicle expenses. I’ll always let you know in advance and agree on a fair approach.
What areas do you cover?
I work with private families in Sydney’s Eastern and North Shore Suburbs. If you’re just outside that zone, call me to discuss. I'm happy to support out-of-area clients for special cases.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. I carry full public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
How do I pay
You can pay securely by card or direct debit. Cash is also accepted.
Payment is due prior to the service (bank details available on request)
All prices include GST
Do you have lock-in contracts?
My support is flexible. You can pause or make changes with 48 hours' notice. If something unexpected comes up, just let me know. I’ll always do my best to accommodate.
Have you had a police check?
Yes. To work as The Gentle PA, having an up-to-date National Police Check is essential. Your family's safety and peace of mind always come first.
Are you trained in First Aid?
Yes. I hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate, ensuring confident support in case of minor incidents or unexpected situations (CPR).
Do you share updates with families?
Absolutely. With the client’s permission, I can provide gentle updates so family members feel informed. Especially helpful for adult children living far away.
Can we claim back your fees through My Aged Care or NDIS?
The Gentle PA is a privately paid, independent service. I am not affiliated with My Aged Care or registered as an NDIS provider. That means you get consistent, flexible support without the red tape, approval delays, waiting lists, rotating staff, or limitations often found in government-funded programs.
If you or your loved one is self-managed under NDIS, I’m happy to provide itemised invoices or service summaries for your records. Any reimbursement would depend on your individual plan and coordinator.
How quickly can you help?
Call me directly to check availability: +61 416 563 428. In some cases I may be able to step in at short notice.
What if I don’t know what we need yet?
Start with a conversation. I’ll help clarify what level of support fits your family and suggest the most appropriate package. If we’re not the right fit, I’ll tell you that too.
Can I gift a package?
Absolutely. My services can be gifted to older parents or loved ones who need gentle help or companionship.
